Interesting facts about German
😉 Did you know that “trychtýř” (der Trichter), deka (die Decke), špek (der Speck), biflovat (büffeln)“ are German loanwords?
😉 And, on the other hand, the Germans also adopted some Czech words, e.g. die Plautze (plíce), die Kretscham (krčma), die Mauke (mouka), der Kasch (kaše), der Powidl (povidla) and also die Buchteln (buchty).
😉 Foods and ingredients can be found in many German idioms. The most frequently used is die Wurst (klobása). E.g. “Alles hat ein Ende, nur die Wurst hat zwei.“ („Vše má svůj konec, jen klobása má konce dva.“).
The rates are valid for general language courses held by a Czech teacher.
