For online lessons we mostly use easy-to-use communication tools like Skype or Zoom that meet all requirements necessary for effective online education. Should you prefer other tools, we can also use communication platforms like Google Meet, MS Teams, WhatsApp etc.
Unsure about what tool might be the best? Then see the comparison below. Or you can leave it up to us and you just get connected to your online lesson.
Skype might be the most popular chat platform that is also frequently used for video calls. Standard Skype version must be installed on your computer or phone and a registration is required. With Skype Meet Now you only need to have a single user account that is shared with the others via a link.
Zoom is a very popular tool for online meetings. Its huge advantage is its simplicity and reliability. You join a video call easily via a link that we send to you. One of its drawbacks is that a session can only take 40 minutes when using the free version, but you can then resume your session and keep going on.
Microsoft Teams is a part of the larger Microsoft 365 ecosystem and it is mostly used in corporations. The session host must have a Microsoft user account whereas the others only need to receive a link they use to get connected to the session in a browser window.
Google offers a reliable platform Google Meet that can be linked to other products of this company such as Google calendar. You must have a Google account to be able to use Google Meet. The free version doesn’t allow you to use the session recording feature.
